Solid Mexican food and a great Mexican grocery store. Really enjoyed the lunch I had here yesterday. Service was a little slow, but they seemed unexpectedly busy. Great Mexicantown vibes.

I have pretty much always had a great experience here. The food is always fresh, hot and fast. I usually get the steak or chicken burritos and it always right. The service is typically pretty good. I think I might have had one issues with the service but that was because the server didn't understand us. She didn't speak good English and we couldn't understand her over her accent. But the manager corrected our issues right away. This restaurant is connected to the store. It's still very nice and festive inside. I will be back

La Jalisciense in Mexicantown has the best chicharrón in the metro area. I've been to other Mexican supermarkets and restaurants and it's just not the same. This chicharrón is served hot, crispy, but not super hard or chewy. There is a good amount of both fat and meat. The chicharrón at other places are usually too dry and hard. Besides the supermarket, I tried the restaurant for a Yelp event. I enjoyed the food and the variety of aguas frescas.

This is a market and restaurant - they offered wonderful food and hospitality when I visited multiple times this fall in Detroit. The churros are great, as are the burritos (I got al pastor!) and drinks. Highly recommend paying them a visit!

My favorite spot in Mexico town. I got there for their hibiscus margaritas and tacos. The service is also very friendly and good. It's a casual spot, so a spot for any time of the day!

Very interesting place. Having tried some of their food at a Yelp event and loving it. My husband was very excited to stop in for more Sopes. La Jalisciense is a market on one side and Restaurant area on the other. There's even outdoor dining. The shop has pretty much anything you would need. He decided to grab a carry out of Sopes. Absolutely delicious as he remembered. I thought the Tres Leches was just ok. He also liked the Guacamole. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

I moved back to Detroit in 2019 just before the 'Vid and this was the first place my family took me for dinner. Since then I've been hooked. I typically get carry out so I don't really know about the drinks. But all of the food is good including the bags of homemade tamales, chicharrones, pastries, churros... which are all found in the store side of the restaurant. Service is fast and the vibe of the place is homey and welcoming. I usually order the taco meal and it's always fresh, fast and reasonably priced. They now even have outdoor seating.

I just ate at La Jaliscience's food truck, and the food was fantastic! The truck is located on the west side of Randolph street, just north of Cadillac Square, in the parking lot behind 7-11. I ordered three steak tacos with beans and rice. The tacos were in soft corn tortillas, topped with cilantro and onions. They were served with lime slices and a picante sauce. Yum! The rice was flavored with red peppers and the beans were creamy. Service was quick and super friendly. Business seemed a bit slow, I hope it picks up - the truck is literally steps from my office and I'd like to become a regular.

La Jalisciense is a new restaurant for us and after our visit is a new favorite. The food was fresh and tasted homemade. We did have to wait a bit for our server and had to flag somebody down but once they came over, service was very good. The vibe is very casual. There is a store on the other side of the restaurant which was pretty cool.

Went to Mexicantown for lunch on Sunday following our visit to the Michigan Central station which is just right down the road. So glad we picked this place! They have a decent sized parking lot but we actually parked in the lot for the business next door because it was Sunday and they were closed. It was pretty busy at around 1pm but it was also Father's Day so it was expected! We were seated right away and we knew fairly quickly what we wanted so we ordered quick. Our server was efficient! They brought out free chips and salsa to start. The salsa had a bit of spice but it was so so good. We also all got Mexican cokes and they offered my Dad a free classic margarita for Father's Day! We all tried it and it was probably one of the better margaritas I have had. Very tasty. For my meal I got the taco dinner which comes with 3 tacos + rice and beans. I chose pastor for my protein. My dad got the same thing but with steak. My mom had a shrimp taco and a goat taco. We were all very pleased with our meals! Sooo yummy. There were some inconsistencies i.e. I got limes and my parents didn't or my dad got onions and peppers and I didn't. Not sure if this is based on the type of meat you get but just something I noticed. I did check in on yelp and they had a check in offer of 10% off your bill that I was able to use. Our bill ended up being around $32 which felt pretty good for 3 meals!
